Pre-Fabrication

Pre-Fabrication Work Area   Pre-Fabrication Worker

The Pre-Fabrication Group is responsible for the following tasks associated with supporting construction projects as well as other corporate needs.

They are responsible for cutting and paralleling all 600v cable prior to shipment to the projects. They complete the manufacture of all pre-fabricated assemblies ordered by the field management team. They work to coordinate with the Construction Services Group to complete the manufacture of all assemblies designed by this group. While this group is not responsible for delivering the finished product to the constructions sites, they are required to coordinate the packaging of their finished product in the most efficient manner possible. Most employees in the Pre-fabrication Group are collective bargaining employees; however this group also includes non-collective bargaining employees. These individuals perform tasks that are not covered under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement but are logically inherent to this group. These tasks include core drilling services for construction projects, general wood working and welding for temporary electric services as well as the building of wood shelving, material storage boxes and plan tables as well as construction trailer steps and platforms. The attached article by Darlene Bremer explains the benefits to the process of prefabrication.
