Canstruction raises thousands of cans for Gleaner's
In its second year, the Canstruction competition was a big success. Ten teams came together at Washington Square Mall all to support Gleaner's food bank and raise hunger awareness. Each sculpture was made out of anywhere from 2,000-6,500 cans, all of which were donated to Gleaner's along with cans collected in bins placed throughout the mall.
ERMCO was a part of the Frontline Outreach team. This team consisted of members from CE Solutions, Synthesis, Inc., F.A. Wilhelm, Woolpert, Vector Consulting, ATC, and Top Quality Glass and Mirror. The team built a six-foot tall stand up pop-up version of Dr. Seuss's Green Eggs and Ham. The concept was chosen because of its food ties as well as the familiarity of Dr. Seuss to the public. Team members spent months planning and finally built the sculpture at the mall on June 4th. While this year we did not come away with and award, everyone had fun and it was all done for a great cause.
