ERMCO Employees Donate for the Holidays
Thanks to the generosity of the ERMCO team, we have made an immediate difference in the lives of many less fortunate. Following is information on what we were able to accomplish thanks to those gifts and ERMCO’s matching contributions:
For Holy Family Shelter, we delivered bags of toys and clothing brought in. With these gifts, parents were able to provide a nice Christmas experience to children who otherwise would have had nothing. This, along with the deductions authorized from paychecks, cash donations and our match, allowed us to also present them with a check in the amount of $2,077.00 which will assist in the everyday needs of the homeless families they serve.
For Hunger Inc., we delivered several bags and boxes of food generously donated and brought into the office by our team members. This food was very much appreciated as Hunger, Inc., like most of the food pantries, is struggling this year to provide even the most basic needs to the families who depend on them. Between what was collected and ERMCO’s match, we were able to collect $2,100, with which we then purchased and delivered 1,072 lbs. of food along with $780.00 in gift certificates. The food had an immediate impact and the gift certificates will assist them in buying basic items that weren’t donated at Christmas or that in short supply.
For St. Elizabeth/Coleman Center, we were very fortunate to have 20 car seats donated directly from Dorel Juvenile Products, Columbus, IN. This was due, in part, to an employee who contacted a former supervisor at Dorel and asked for their help. The car seats, along with all the baby items and personal items that were donated and brought in to our office completely overwhelmed the staff at St. Elizabeth/Coleman. In addition to the items we donated to the Center, we were also able to present them with a check in the amount of $2,481. This will assist them in providing basic needs for both the mothers and children who seek their help.
Darrell Gossett, President of ERMCO said the following in response to the donations collected this year:
"I would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s Christmas efforts. I would especially like to thank Tracy Yingling for her hard work in once again organizing this year’s program and working with each of the charities. I know, at one time or another, you may have questioned whether your individual contribution really matters. Believe me, sharing our blessings- no matter how much- can make a huge difference in the lives of those we touch, especially when we all pull together. Thanks again for your kindness and may God bless you and your loved ones in the upcoming year."
