Riley Children's Hospital

ERMCO, Inc. was awarded the contract for the electrical and systems work on Riley Phase V, which includes a 10-story, $200 million, 650,000 square-foot tower that will expand the Level I pediatric trauma center, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units and operating rooms, and is scheduled to open in 2012.
In anticipation of Riley Phase V construction, ERMCO, Inc has completed several major projects at Riley Children's Hospital: Department Relocations, 3rd Floor N/S 4th Floor CV Step-down, ROC 4th Floor, and Utility Relocation.
Renovation and relocation work has also been completed at both University and Methodist hospitals on the I.U.-Riley-Methodist Clarian Campus. As part of these projects, ERMCO, Inc.'s Hill-Rom Certified technicians replaced the existing Nurse Call systems with new Hill-Rom systems in all three hospitals.

Indiana University Cancer Center

ERMCO, Inc. is excited to be a part of the Clarian I.U. Cancer Center project. This project includes the addition of a 5 story, 350,000 sq. ft. structure and a renovation of 15,000 sq. ft. of existing space. The new facility will have the capacity for 80 new cancer treatment beds, facilities for up to 40 patients receiving chemotherapy, as well as many other patient and family amenities. This facility will also provide space for both in-patient and out-patient care.
The building is located adjacent to both the University Hospital as well as the Cancer Pavilion becoming a bridge between the two and providing easy access to all three structures. This also will allow for much of the existing Cancer spaces at the Medical center to be reused.
ERMCO's work on the project includes the Lighting Controls and Dimming System, Patient Physiological Monitoring System, Nurse Call System, MATV, Fire Alarm System, Static UPS System, Generator, Paralleling Switchgear and Emergency Power Systems, and Power Distribution.

Reid Hospital

New Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN is an entirely new replacement facility being constructed less than two miles from the existing hospital. ERMCO, Inc. has secured contracts for the Lighting Controls and Dimming System , Voice and Data System rough-in, Inter-Com systems, Public Address Systems, Master Antenna Television System, Fire Alarm System, Static UPS System, Grounding, Bonding , and Lightning Protection Systems, Basic Lighting and Power Systems for the hospital and related support facilities.
The new 668,500 sq .ft. hospital located on 100 acres will be comprised of three distinct components: Medical Office Building; Outpatient Care Center; Inpatient Hospital. The Outpatient care portion is slated for completion in May 2007 while the entire facility completion is scheduled for 2008.
ERMCO, Inc. is partnering with Cummins Electrical Company, a local Richmond contractor, for this project.

Indiana University Research III
Indianapolis, Indiana
The seven-story, 254,000 square foot, $83.3 million facility will house a 213-seat auditorium, a symposium center and more than 119 laboratories. Once completed, the new structure will be the final component of a three-building, 500,000 square foot interconnected Research complex. The project is scheduled to be completed in December of 2008. ERMCO's work on the project includes installing large feeder conduits and the electrical components, telecom install, and installation of three massive 13.8 KV Substations.
One element that has helped keep this job on track is the extensive use of ERMCO's Construction Services Group, with Kenny Edwards not only serving as the Director of Construction Service but also the Project Manager of the job. The purpose of this group is to assist the Project Managers with project start-up, execution and close-out of jobs. Construction Services has a pool of labor that is highly skilled in several support functions such as CAD, re-engineering, identification of pre-fab opportunities, coordination with other trades, scheduling and claims preparation. The use of Construction Services also brings procedural consistency to each project.

Community North Hospital Expansion

The Community North Hospital project was an expansion of the existing hospital facilities. Voice & Data cabling, Copper & Fiber Backbone, Wireless Paging, and Systems Cabling were provided by ERMCO for the project.
The $170 million expansion included a six-story patient tower with a new front entry and 60 private maternity guest suites, ultra-modern surgical suites, and private inpatient surgical care suites. A new five-story professional building was built and connects at every level to the hospital. Other additions included a six-story parking garage, an open gallery area with a chapel, retail shops, and a Starbucks. There is also paperless, digital technology throughout
ERMCO also performs all of the MAC work for Community Hospitals.

Indiana University Medical Information Sciences

The 167,000 square foot facility provides space for five IU programs: The division of Children's Health Services Research, the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, the Division of Biostatistics, the Center for Bioethics and the Regenstrief Institute whose researchers are IU faculty members. Eli Lilly and Company and Clarian Health Partners also have offices for scientists who work with IU faculty and researchers.

Clarian North Hospital

Clarian North is a full service, 170-bed hospital featuring the complete spectrum of medical care, from the most advanced diagnostics and surgery to state of the art labor and delivery rooms. ERMCO, Inc. and MBE partner Electrical Mechanical Services completed the electrical installation for the 375,000 sq .ft. medical facility.
The major packages included lighting, gear, generators and transfer switches, patient headwalls, lighting control, fire alarm, nurse call and paging systems. The hospital has many unique features such as the 28,000 sq. ft. glass atrium that connects the Medical Office building to the hospital providing an "outdoor feel" with street lights, neon lighting and park benches.

Clarian West Hospital

ERMCO, Inc., in partnership with MBE partner Electrical Mechanical Services, performed the electrical installation for Clarian West. The 345,000 sq. ft. hospital complex consists of six buildings: a Women's Center, Cancer Center, Emergency Department, Pediatrics, Surgery Services and a Physician Office Building. The complex also houses a helipad.
The electrical equipment installed for this project includes six substations, two generators, twelve transfer switches along with paralleling gear. Some of the unique packages include lighting patient headwalls, lighting control switches, fire alarm, nurse call and paging systems. There are also extensive site and landscape lights and even "twinkle" lighting in the nursery.

This project was a new manufacturing facility for Baxter Pharmaceuticals. ERMCO provided Electrical, Voice & Data Infrastructure and the Fire Alarm System for the project which included a Pharmadule shell, utility space with refrigerators and freezers, laboratories, and administrative offices.
The 120,000 sq .ft. building supports additional lines for syringe filling and vial filling. The facility will also accommodate the addition of various laboratories and administrative offices.

Indianapolis Orthopedic Hospital (OrthoIndy)

This project included a new 140,000 square-foot, two-story inpatient hospital addition as well as the renovation of the existing outpatient surgery center. ERMCO provided Voice & Data Infrastructure, Fiber Risers, Cable Tray, and Racking & Cabinets for this project.
The finished building contains 38 patient rooms, 10 ORs, including four laminar flow rooms, imaging expansion, 40 pre/post & PACU rooms, lab, pharmacy, physical therapy, kitchen and dining, and support centers.

A four-year $120 million expansion for Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie is projected to help meet the region's growing healthcare needs.
The addition includes a new south tower, expanded surgical suites, improved outpatient services and private patient rooms. The expansion adds 400,000 square feet of new and renovated space to the hospital.

Indiana University Biotechnical Research and Training Facility

This project was a new four story, 105,000 Sq. Ft. research facility. ERMCO's work on the project included substations, automatic transfer schemes, a generator, fire alarm system, security systems, radiation monitoring equipment, P.A. system, and lighting and dimming controls.
The new building consists of state of the art research labs equipped with bio safety and fume hoods, auto claves, and environmental rooms. The facility also provides training and education elements including lecture rooms and conference rooms with state of the art audio visual and lighting equipment. The building also houses animal holding areas with automatic feeding and watering systems and automatic cage washing equipment.
