The Training Coordinator/Recruiting Associate is responsible for the development, coordination, and scheduling of all training programs within all departments of ERMCO, Inc.  Although not the primary role of this position, the Training Coordinator/Recruiting Associate will also assist Human Resources in the ongoing campaign of recruitment for field and overhead employees.



  • Gaining an understanding of each group’s primary function(s) and purpose so as to facilitate a training program that will ultimately be of great value to the Company in the fast-changing technical world in which we work and live.

  • Assessing the training needs of professional and administrative support team members

  • Propose budgetary training and development along with utilization of outside training vendors when applicable

  • Scheduling and record keeping

  • Assist the Field Operations Director in organizing in-house training programs for field employees, when applicable

  • Provide support in departmental policies and procedures

  • Evaluates, measures results from completed trainings and engages with managers and directors to address skill gaps.

  • Aid in establishing metrics and influencing standardization and consistency

  • Works effectively with all team members/departments to provide creative problem solving solutions

  • Research and evaluate training software programs to automate functions of the various departments

  • Order training supplies and materials to enhance instruction program

  • Coordinates Company strategies and measurement to execute initiatives

  • Coordinate yearly employee appraisal process

  • As directed by the HR Manager, support in the overall recruiting process of the organization, including;

    • Support in the building a contact list of high schools, trade schools (i.e.; Central 9, Central 4) and two-year universities (i.e.; Ivy Tech, Brown Mackie).

    • As directed attend job fairs and high school and trade school career days.

    • As directed attend parent night outs.

    • As directed support efforts to recruit Merit Shop employees for field positions

  • Ensure that all staff participates fully in all Corporate and other training as required

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned which are logically inherent to this position

  • Ensure that all training is in compliance with ERMCO’s stated mission, vision, values, safety standards, and company policies and procedures.

  • Be willing to work whatever hours are necessary to ensure that training of Team Members are performed completely and accurately.

  • A bachelor’s degree in teaching or a related field

  • A minimum 2-4 years teaching experience and/or related experience

  • Proven experience in coordinating, developing and implementing effective training programs in a variety of technical, professional and leadership skill development areas

  • Computer Skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Office Suite

  • Knowledge of the construction industry is beneficial, but not required
