Reimagining Share Spaces: AV Technology and Innovation Story

In today’s workplace, shared spaces are expected to work flawlessly from the moment someone walks in. Meetings should start on time. Screens should connect instantly. A room should simply work without the need for instructions, troubleshooting, and hesitation.
When that happens, technology fades into the background and collaboration takes center stage. When it doesn’t, even the best designed space becomes a barrier.
That understanding set the direction for our work with Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated (JLL), a property manager focused on delivering spaces that support how modern tenants actually work. What began as a trusted partnership has evolved into a shared commitment to creating environments that are intuitive, flexible, and built for long-term success.
That commitment came to life during the 89 South renovation, the first large-scale transformation of the main floor of the Keystone Building in Indianapolis.

Reimagining the Multi-Tenant Workplace Experience
Many office buildings like this present unique challenges, they must support multiple organizations, workflows, and expectations often at the same time. Technology has to be consistent, immediately usable, and reliable for everyone.
For JLL, the goal was clear: Create a modern, flexible, and intuitive shared space that feels seamless for every tenant who walks through the door.
The newly renovated floor includes a thoughtful mix of spaces that support the full range of a tenant’s day from quick conversations to more formal gatherings. Shared meeting and huddle spaces, a welcoming kitchen that encourages connection, a large conference room for formal meetings, and lounges that invite informal collaboration all work together as one cohesive experience.
These spaces weren’t just redesigned visually. They were intentionally reimagining how people move, meet, and connect throughout the day.
A Seamless AV Experience Built for Every Tenant
From the start, everything was designed with the tenant experience in mind. For shared spaces to succeed, technology must feel invisible but powerful enough to support any meeting, yet simple enough that anyone can use it.
Across the Keystone Crossing shared spaces, technology was designed to feel consistent and intuitive. High resolution TVs and large format displays make information easy to see and share. Hybrid meetings feel natural, supported by conference bars, microphones, and cameras that keep everyone engaged. Touch panels guide users effortlessly, while room scheduling tools remove friction around booking. Even access controls were integrated thoughtfully, balancing security without slowing anyone down.
By standardizing the experience, tenants faced familiar controls and consistent performance. The payoff is immediate: fewer interruptions, smoother meetings, and spaces that invite use rather than hesitation.
The Keystone Crossing Amenity Projects unfolded over six to seven months, demanding careful alignment with construction schedules, stakeholders, and ongoing tenant activity.
For JLL, preserving a positive tenant experience throughout the renovation was just as important as the finished space itself. The project moved forward in carefully planned
phases, allowing shared areas to remain functional while ensuring each new space was delivered fully ready, intuitive to use, and dependable from the moment tenants stepped inside.
By designing an integrated, scalable AV system, the Keystone Crossing Buildings are now positioned to support:
Shifting tenant expectations and collaboration styles
Increased hybrid and remote participation
Technology upgrades that can be layered in overtime
Today, the Keystone Crossing Amenity Projects are equipped with shared spaces reflecting JLL’s original vision: well‑used, intuitive environments where tenants meet, collaborate, and connect without friction. With access extended to approximately 5,700 users through the access control system, consistent utilization across meeting rooms, lounges, and shared areas confirms the spaces are working exactly as intended.
And when technology simply works, people can focus on what matters most.
